The Beginning of the End

Background
I worked at a top-ranked advertising agency for the past 3.5 years and recently just got laid off. I fancied two options: working on another piece of business (doing the same shit) or taking the severance package and running.

It's going to be insane -- I've never traveled overseas as an adult. I've never lived outside of Los Angeles. I've never been away from my family for more than three weeks. I've never even backpacked, and the longest amount of cold I've experienced was during weekend trips to Mammoth -- with aged whiskeys, hot jacuzzis, and winter green to ease my soul after a long day of snowboarding.

Admittedly, I'm scared shitless of what I may be getting myself into; but at the same time, I'm pretty excited to see what I may be getting myself out of.

Contact

The only way to contact me is to leave comments on this blog, Facebook or via email (proefound@yahoo.com). Other than that, I've decided to fuck off.

Wish me lush.

Istanbul

Istanbul
Istanbul,
originally uploaded by proefound.
Her job is to serve as a tour guide for musicians that come to Istanbul. In a nutshell, her job is to meet artists at the airport and just show them a good time. She's been in the company of The Cure, National (that new rock band I've been digging), Depeche Mode, etc. Her other job is to work as a coordinator for Istanbul's various international film and music festivals.

Wow, what a life. She also watches indie flicks and reads Turkish-translated Michael Moore books. And check out her keen eye for design by scoping out that killer, revolving bookshelf in the background.

I'll tell you what though; she had to show these two German electronic DJs around and I got hooked up with the guest list at this pretty underground joint that was quite exclusive. We could definitely be homies. I got back home at 4:45 that morning; her at 5:30. No wonder I have gout.
