My Couchsurfing Profile

So, I'm pretty stoked for the initial responses so far for Couchsurfing. I realized I really need to sell myself on my profile without coming off as douchebag that's just trying to hook up, a dirty hippie with lice, or a cocky ass American snob. So here's what I posted on my profile:

PERSONAL DESCRIPTION
HI, TO KEEP THIS SHORT:
this will be my first time traveling overseas. i've lived in los angeles my entire life, so the most amount of time i've spent in the snow was a weekend snowboarding. i've never backpacked nor couch surfed. i am not looking for anything romantic either, i'm just looking for fun and interesting people.

HOWEVER:
i'm open to the world and i'm fascinated with experiencing people -- through conversations, drinks, breakfasts, and learning about life through their eyes. introduce me to your lovers, friends, family...even if you have a donkey, i'd like to meet it.

QUALIFICATIONS:
i'll make you laugh your ass off, and we'll have a good time. also, i have an ipod with really great, independent music.

MY GREATEST PASSION IS MUSIC:
i'm really into underground hip hop and indie rock. some artists include: tv on the radio, cat power, yeah yeah yeahs, wolf parade, bloc party, iron and wine, sea wolf, the blow, alamo race track, sea wolf, the national, etc.

as for underground hip hop, there's a lot to list. ok, some are a tribe called quest, atmosphere, little brother, j dilla, the pharcyde, black star, wu tang clan, de la soul, sage francis.....etc.

MOVIES:
25th Hour, Donnie Darko, Magnolia, Fargo, Murderball, Born Into Brothels, Spellbound...any independent films with good dialogue, lighting, music supervision, editing, photography, art direction

TYPES OF PEOPLE I ENJOY
I TEND TO LIKE PEOPLE THAT ARE:
genuine, easy going, fun, interesting, open minded, quirky, unrestrained, generous, drinkers, still curious about life

BUT YOU DON'T NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE:
polite, rich, so serious all the time, wild, super nice, like minded

TEACH, LEARN, SHARE (WHAT I HAVE TO OFFER THE COMMUNITY)
WHAT I CAN TEACH/LEARN/SHARE MORE THAN THE AVERAGE PERSON CAN:
basics of photography, surfing, the intricacies of real hip hop culture, advertising/marketing solutions, how to drive stick shift

HOWEVER, I CAN OFFER YOU MY PERSPECTIVE ON:
music, movies, life, ethics and philosophy, nature, society, and i give pretty damn good advice.

WHAT I'D LOVE TO LEARN:
what makes people operate

ONE AMAZING THING I'VE SEEN OR DONE:
the most amazing thing i've ever seen or done was learn how to surf. dolphins jumping, sun rising over the mountains, sun sinking into the pacific ocean, philosophical conversations on your board in between waves, peeing in your wetsuit to keep yourself warm, being humbled in the throes of something so powerful...

i feel like i'm in on one of life's most beautiful secrets.

My Rough Itinerary

Couchsurfing

I'm going to couchsurf my way through Europe in hopes of getting an inside edition of each country that I visit. I'm not going to explain it, but look it up (couchsurfing.com) if you want to want to know what's up. Here's the initial letter that I'm going to send out:

Hello,

My name is Roe and I plan on visiting your country
during the week of _/_/08; therefore, I was hoping
that I could stay on your couch for a day (or two, or
twenty, just kidding).

I'm a very respectful and clean guy and I'm completely
open to anything new, so let's be friends and have
some fun! If not, kick me out! How easy is that?

I apologize for sending out a generic email. I'll pay
